We are proud to announce that our website dedicated to supporting the digitalisation of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in construction is now online. This website acts as a one-stop-shop portal to access various services for SMEs in the construction sector. The services developed aim at supporting the digitalisation of construction sector SMEs by improving the understanding of digitalisation covering technologies such as BIM, 3D printing and scanning, robotics, drones, sensors and IoT.

The following services and information are accessible on our website:

  • A digital maturity scan to help construction SMEs evaluate their digitalisation level;

  • An interactive handbook which includes next steps and recommendations on how to further digitalise construction SMEs;

  • Dates for in-depth trainings offered to SMEs to deepen their knowledge on digital business strategies, digital processes and company culture as well as various technology enablers;

  • A collection of best practices provided by construction SMEs which implemented digitalisation projects, detailing experienced benefits of and barriers to digitalisation.

This website also comes with a section linking to other relevant projects and initiatives as well as a News & Events site to keep users up to date on relevant news and events from the construction world. Finally, a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) section provides further guidance on the project and its different services.

The launch of this website is part of the Digitalisation of Construction SMEs project, delivered by a consortium composed of Ecorys, TNO, IMP³ROVE and Europa Media Group on behalf of the European Innovation Council and SME Executive Agency (EISMEA) of the European Commission. Its purpose is to support the digitalisation of SMEs in the sector, foster their growth, enhance their productivity and efficiency, and prepare them for the challenges of an increasingly connected and digitalised world. The services offered, as well as the research required to design them, are based on the recommendations of a European Commission study on Supporting digitalisation of the construction sector and SMEs
